Cubo - Loulé

Decided to go here for some nice chilled drinks with my friends on the first night of our holiday. Safe to say it wasn’t a great start to the holiday when we got the bill and our double gin and tonics came to €22 each. Despite complaining and then asking for at least some more tonic water for free because it was so hideously strong, they refused because apparently each gin shot costs €11 on its own and the tonic is complimentary as part of the “cocktail”. This was also the cheapest gin on the menu which is ridiculous. Will never go back here or recommend it to anyone.

I remember coming here last year for breakfast and it was a bit naff then, so we should have known better, but …… We visited for breakfast and were informed that out of 9 or 10 items on the breakfast menu only the top two were available. Well that limited our choice but we agreed to order from the top two items. The waiter then informed us that the kitchen was incompetent, which isn't exactly what you want to hear when you're ordering food. Just then another waiter arrived and told us the original waiter had got it all wrong, and that we could actually order anything we wanted, which encouraged me to order the full breakfast. Now call me fussy, but I like a couple of slices of toast to dip in my egg. A little bit of a quirk, I know, but I went ahead and ordered them. The breakfast arrived in due course, but no toast. What did arrive with it, however, was the bill. This is because the breakfast isn't actually cooked on site, but at another venue across the square. I waited patiently for my toast, unable to start my breakfast because I wanted to swipe it around the egg whilst it was still runny. I requested toast from three different people, but it still didn't arrive. Eventually the second waiter came by the one who was a little bit more clued up noticed me sitting there not eating my rapidly cooling breakfast and asked if anything was wrong. I informed him that I'd asked three different people for my toast but to no effect. He organised toast for me within a minute. Why couldn't the others do this? I ended up eating a cold breakfast. This place is a disaster!

Greet venue. Great staff always happy and courteous. Lovely and well made cocktails. Always aiming to entertain and please.

Really nice little bar. Great drinks and excellent service. Staff always very welcoming and courteous. Was great entertainment for the World Cup games. Always recommended.

Grabbed a few hours on our own and left the family to it back at the villa. Discovered a new cocktail with vanilla, vodka, passion fruit champagne expensive but my wife loved it. Give it a try.
