A soulless silence added to a mausoleum like atmosphere, with the cold stare of the locals focused on your very presence. With a no child policy seemingly to apply to the bar and back room, the future of this Inn seems to be getting ready to cash in on its life insurance. The Black Horse Inn: A Lee Anderson favourite.
A free house. No corporate chain rubbish. No fruit machines, no music. Just a nice quaint old fashioned pub.
Excellent village pub, great landlady and good beer
This country pub truly embodies everything a pub should be. The atmosphere is fantastic, and the host is delightful. Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 Parking: Ample parking available, with free parking options.
I stumbled upon this place while walking my dog, and I was greeted by a very welcoming landlady. Although it was my first visit, we quickly became friends, and I can't wait to return. It's not particularly child-friendly, which is ideal for me, but it's worth mentioning for those walking with kids. The pub is very dog-friendly, has a lovely warm fire—perfect for warming up after a misty, icy walk—and overall, it's a beautiful spot! I highly recommend it.
