The Poachers Pub - Lower Earley

We enjoyed four delicious meals, and this great place just needs more customers!

The pub is lovely, and the dining experience is pleasant. However, the nearby busy road can be noisy, which some people might find distracting when sitting outside.

I visited this restaurant on Wednesday afternoon and found it to be very quiet; it seemed we were the only patrons there. The food was excellent, featuring typical pub fare along with a small selection of pizzas. While the main courses weren’t inexpensive, the portions were generous. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal here.

Nice for a first visit back to a pub and the outdoor bar works very well. It's understandable that they're getting back into the swing of things and some things will be ironed out, but feel that there was no covid management in place. E.g. More than 6 people/2 families at tables, 1 track and trace poster visible but not asked to check in, multiple people not wearing face masks when going inside to toilet.etc. Would visit again but not currently. Food was tasty and quick, although the pepperoni pizza was surprisingly spicy, only occurred after we left that it may have got mixed up with the Salami nduja by accident.

Not bad but pen and paper for track and trace record. Order at the bar no table service and no masks. Plenty of outside space, but outdoor furniture very shabby and dirty. It's a lovely pub in a great spot but not made the most of. Also not a great drinks selection.
