We asked to have the pinot noir chilled and the bartender did go out of her way to track down a wine bucket. We intended to stay for dinner but decided to go elsewhere after finishing our bottle. I suggest you proceed to dinner and order wine with your meal ... wherever you go.
Spent a really nice day on Main Street in Bethlehem with my niece. We had lunch at Corked and each ordered New England Clam Chowder which was fine. My niece looked at me and said 'you have something hanging from your mouth . I pulled it out and it kept coming. In fact I pulled twice and the long brown hair kept coming out of my mouth. Let me digress. I have short silver hair. I called the waiter and showed him the long hair that was in the soup. The waiter said, I don 't know where that came from because everyone in the kitchen has short hair. I don 't know if that makes the fact that a long hair was in my soup that was made today or the hair was in my soup that may have been made the day before or a week ago. Yuck. They took the soup off my bill.
We made an Open Table reservation but the hostess could not find it, ultimately OT said I dId not show up, which is a big Open Table no no. It worked out but a heads up for the next person. The place is definitely a nightclub at night, during the day it is dark. A big contrast to the cheerful holiday streets of Bethlehem. They were out of a few muni items and decided on the Sweet and Sweaty wings. Wings were good, could have been crispier but sauce was great; reminded me of a Korean BBQ sauce. We shared the Butternut Squash Ravioli. The pasta was saturated in a creamy white sauce with lots of walnuts and cranberries. It was tasty like the way boxed. Mac and cheese taste so so good. We finished everything. Overall Corked is a good value but the food had an assembly line feel to it.
Our 1st dining experience at Cork 'd was to celebrate a birthday. They seated us near a vent initially and it was like being in a cold wind tunnel. We asked to be moved and they did so without a problem. Our waiter was excellent, describing the wines and specials thoroughly. I liked that there weren 't so many specials that you wonder why they have a menu. The food and service was exquisite. They brought our desert on a cheese platter on which the chef had written Happy Birthday in a chocolate sauce. We 'll return to dine again. My biggest complaint was how loud it got in the restaurant by the time we left. I measured it a 90 decibels, which is like standing in a station as the train goes by. It became a distraction and downright uncomfortable. I 'm hoping a midweek meal would be much quieter.
Love this place. I've been here twice to dine and the food service has been outstanding. Drinks were good as well. Had three or four appetizers each time to share. Great portions and delicious! Lamb shanks were awesome as well as the lobster macaroni. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Beautiful inside with an awesome bar. Has a dance floor and a DJ on the weekends. Not sure about the nightclub crowd or how rowdy it gets. I would definitely recommend Corked to bring a date for dinner. Very classy and the food is awesome.
