Cohill's Pub - Lubec

If you're in the area, definitely dine here! We thoroughly enjoyed the burgers, the smoked fish appetizer, the ravioli, and the haddock tacos – all were delicious and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is very cozy, balancing a laid-back vibe with a touch of refinement. There's a comfortable lounge area where you can relax with a drink and enjoy a view of the water and bay while waiting for a table. Once seated, you receive the menus and place your order at the bar when you're ready, with the food brought to your table. They also have an upstairs terrace that offers a stunning view of Water Street, the inland part of Lubec, and the bay. On our second visit to Cohills, we stopped for drinks and took advantage of the terrace. We even spotted a bald eagle flying in from the bay toward Canada. If you have energetic kids with you, there's a war monument up the hill that can serve as a distraction. We absolutely fell in love with Lubec and the surrounding area and can’t wait to return for another meal. Five stars!

The smoked fish appetizer was peculiar; it came with far too few crackers, just one fork (which was puzzling since it was meant for two people), and no napkins, forcing us to fetch our own. The burgers were quite good, but once again, we had to request napkins, silverware, and ketchup. Nobody came around to refill our water or check if we wanted another round of drinks. The staff is friendly and clearly doing their best, but they are under-resourced and struggling to keep up. Given that there are limited dining options in Lubec, this is likely the best choice available, so if you do visit, expect to end up here. My advice is to be patient and adaptable. And whatever you do, steer clear of the lounge!

This was our third stay in the pretty town of Lubec. In a beautiful region with stunning coastal scenery, and Campobello Island just across the water, this is a fantastic place to visit for all ages. We've dined at the end several times and have always enjoyed the food service and location. I had the Greek platter this time and it was very good. We arrived with a group of seven for dinner, but were told that they couldn't accommodate us unless we split up into pairs at the available tables. Even though there were five tables for two around the restaurant, they refused to allow us to push them together so we could sit as a group. As a result, we decided to take our business elsewhere. Everything was fantastic. It's very serene there and business close earlier than I'm used to, which was perfect for a nice quiet weekend. I suggest bringing your passport because there's a bridge you can walk to then across to get to Canada. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5
