The price did not deter the customers. It was a lovely spot to sit and people watch but it did come at a price.
Surprised at some of the poor reviews. I found all the staff to be friendly. We took our gelato to go so I don't know if they charge more. I usually ask because it is often this way especially in the tourist towns. The raspberry, banana and caramel gelato was outstanding! A small cup is 2 euro which I believe is comparable to Grom and certainly Florence prices. In our local town we typically pay 1.50-2.00 for a similar size. Wonderful sandwich shop diagonally across the street, La Botteghina where we had a quick but wonderfully fresh sandwich. Also a clean bathroom for customers!
We had ice cream to go with 4 friends here. You get small scoops but pay a low price so that seems fair to me (I payed €1.2 for a cone with two scoops in September 2021). The guy serving was very friendly, by far the best we had throughout our trip. He could speak some English and tried to understand me when I was looking for diary-free icecream (he understood when I asked no milk and showed and explained all the flavours without milk). I would definitely come here again.
The service was mean and rude. They cheated us for 10€ and didn't gave it back. The women that are working here were smiling and talking about us in Italian. Awful place.
They charged 5 € instead of 3 because we sat down, also the ice cream was of bad quality, avoid this place!
