A good place for family dine in.. since my childhoodNeed to improve the seating area.. n ambienceStill the old one..Food is still so yummySpecially the ChineseN Indian food.
Weekend and light showered breezy evening it was. We decided to treat ourselves with some sumptuous chaat. We rounded up on this place, since it has been our favourite since forever!<br/ <br/ I remember as a child frequenting this place. The seating and arrangement was much much better then. I guess due to shift of base, it has gotten compact now.<br/ <br/ So we ordered:<br/ <br/ Dahi Batashe<br/ Aloo Tikki<br/ Samosa Chatni (2)<br/ Paani Puri (2)<br/ Palak Chaat<br/ <br/ Though the space has changed, but the quality, taste, flavor and aroma is hands down all the same! Fresh, yummy, hot and crunchy. A delight!<br/ <br/ Paani Puri is the best I have had in the city! Like seriously I am not even exaggerating. The puris are soft yet crunchy. There's ample stuffing of matar, with tangy and spicy paani to go with it. You cannot just stop at one!<br/ <br/ Dahi Batashe again were crispy, soft and firm. Filling of matar and topped with khatti chutney and sweet curd, to the brim. Each one was a burst in the mouth yummilicious delight. Indeed, the best I have had.<br/ <br/ Aloo Tikki was a single layer of aloo patty, heated and fried in light oil, crushed with sukhi puri, topped with chopped onions, chillies and coriander on a layer of sweet curd and tangy chutney. Aaah, melt in mouth treat.<br/ <br/ Samosa, was a warm dish, served with tangy and hot chutney, over crisp papdi and the filling laden with aloo and peas.<br/ <br/ Palak Chaat was a surprise package. Palak pakodi in large sizes, crisp and warm at the base with matar mashed with chutneys on top. Laden with sweet chutney, tangy chutney, sweet curd, crisp sukhi puri, chopped onions and coriander. A novel and delicious dish!<br/ <br/ The staff was very courteous and helping. They got us an extra chair and even modified our food items according to our taste.<br/ <br/ It's amazing how flavors and taste have the unique power to make you nostalgic and transport you back in time. I guess Shivam is my most favorite place for chaat in the city and will always be!<br/ <br/ Keep up the good work, you guys!
