We used to come here all the time for work lunches circa-2009.

Superb gourmet food in a simple setting. The best lunch we have had in Bordeaux. The 3 course set menu was fantastic value.

I ate a lunch here but from the lunch menu (18€ there remained only barbecued spare ribs as a main course. As this was not to my liking, the waitress said the chef recommended the fillet steak. This I had, but it was not well prepared and tough. No mention had been made of the supplement but that turned out to be almost twice the price of the original menu, leaving a total cost of over 40€ for badly presented fillet steak plus a wispy entrée.

Maybe I'd had to many reds before we got here; maybe I wasn't in the mood; maybe we should have gone Japanese.__I dunno what, but Athenian did not live
