Moulin De Mombreux - Lumbres

Stayed here for one night before our return to Calais and then London. Our room was spacious and clean and looked right over the duck and goose filled stream. A buffet breakfast was supplied which was more than adequate for our needs. We had had dinner in the adjoining restaurant which was housed in a old mill and which was also good.

My wife and I called upon the premises on the 24th October 2019 as we had not been able to make contact with Mr Gregory Delbergue for some time. We were greeted with a sign informing that it had closed. A barrier has been placed across the drive entrance, There was no one at all on site. The grounds are looking overgrown. A good number of visits have been enjoyed here in the past, and they will be sadly missed by us and a good number of others..

Excellent lovley place friendly staff. . Food excellent. .loads of history and oldy worldy. Ideal stay just outside calais for travelling further afield .

Stayed here for one night and was very satisfied. The room is circa 80 Euros a night and for that we had a nice room, modern décor, with double bed, bathroom, separate toilet and a walk in wardrobe for clothes and bags – oh and a nice view over the river. Should also mention quality bed linen and a bed with a firm mattress (too firm for the wife) which I loved – I slept really well. Flat screen TV and wifi so pretty good. My only observation was that I would have expected a shower at this price as opposed to a hand shower over the bath. Breakfast was a further 11 euros and pretty average – so next time we would skip this Happily return and recommend

This is a lovely place, ideal for a stopover. Yes, as previously mentioned, the hotel rooms are modern, but they are warm and spotlessly clean, ours had a wonderful view of the river and waterwheel. We stayed on Christmas Eve and ate in the restaurant. Traditional French cuisine, lots of locals enjoying the ambience. Service was fabulous, the 3 waiters/waitresses made carrying plates of food and trays of drinks up the curved wooden staircase look easy. Breakfast was more than adequate, good selection and plenty of it. We will certainly return to this lovely hotel.
