Il Pirata - Lurano

A little old place to renovate but the pizza is of all respect. Service a little slow. Friendly and courteous employees. Perfect for a quick or take-away pizza.

By the way we found this place in the center of the village. Excellent meat cutter, in particular the ham, light and correctly leavened the focaccia, applause pods, excellent vegetables for quality, cooking and dressing. Lady at the table and available.

We bought two takeaway pizzas for the first (and last) time. They arrived on time and warm and so far nothing to say. During the exchange with the delivery guy, it seems to me that all the weight of pizzas thinks on one side, but at the moment I didn't give us too much importance. I arrive at the house and I know that the left hand is completely covered with tomato sauce that comes out from the cartoons of pizzas. We open both envelopes, and the show to those in front of us is not the best, pizzas and ingredients totally disassembled in something that by now “pizza” could no longer call itself. A bit discouraged, I call the place because everyone can get an incorrect delivery. I feel responding with making a bit dry and doubtful that they offered me a discount on a next delivery and for the time to eat what we had received. I rightly pointed out that I had sent photos to their Facebook page documenting everything and that I was not lying, but above all that I could not eat pizzas in that state. A bit of a disgrace agrees to send more pizzas and this time together with speedy pizza comes another guy (I don’t know if the owner or son of the owner) who delivers me the new pizzas and illustrates them opening them as to make me notice they were in order. They close by asking me why the first pizzas were in that state alluding to who knows what maneuvers carried out from the door to the table, but the even more amazing thing is the answer received where they accuse me of having dropped them from the table, no comment. Forget it.

Good ristopub. The service is fast and extremely friendly staff. I didn't taste the birds, which tell me to be the restaurant specialty, but I took a good mixed fried dish. Beer is very good and served at the right temperature.

The Pirate is a point of reference for the whole town of Lurano: it is located exactly in the heart of the small town, a few meters from the Piazza del Comune, spacious inside and with a tactic terrace/veranda solo until the early afternoon. From Il Pirata you can spend from breakfast, aperitif, snack to dinner and after dinner: a whole day of excellent and fresh products, treated with care and wisdom by family management staff for almost 30 years. The pizza, despite not of Neapolitan tradition with high edges and beautiful swollen, has a thin and digestible pasta, with always fresh ingredients and in abundance, as well as the great circumference of pizza. Drinks and sweet and salty food, along with various snacks: enter the Pirate and find everything you need. Clean bathroom. Prices have an inadmissible ratio between quality and price. The family owner of Il Pirata is a united and always very friendly family, and they make you feel at home, between a chat and another, through 3 generations: the gracious and clever grandmother, Massimo, the son and wife Ornella, the heart of the club together with the two children who help them in management and logistics. Everyone contributes to creating a welcoming and simple atmosphere, managing to maintain Il Pirata the delicious and unmissable place which has been for almost 30 years.
