If you look up chicken piccata, it should be made with chicken cutlets, not just a plain chicken breast drenched in lemon sauce. When the staff came to ask how everything was, I did something I rarely do—I sent the dish back and requested a bacon cheeseburger instead. If you decide to order a burger here, make sure to ask for a double because the portion is quite small. On the positive side, there was plenty of bacon, and it was quite tasty. Would I return? I doubt it. I’ve never found this place to be a good dining option. And if you're considering hosting a banquet there, think again! A local high school once held a sports banquet at this restaurant, and they couldn’t even manage spaghetti correctly—they ran out before everyone had been served. It was just spaghetti, after all. The following year, they hosted the banquet at Heritage Harbor, and it was a much better experience.
My husband and I visit this restaurant once a week. The food is always delicious, the service is top-notch, and the atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed. I particularly love the mushroom ravioli, and the Sunday brunch is fantastic. I highly recommend this place!
We absolutely adore The Tavern at Cheval! The chef and his wife are fantastic! Their food is consistently delicious, and they truly have a passion for both food and service. Our kids look forward to going for Sunday brunch every weekend!
Our second time at the Sunday brunch. Never disappoints! Omelets are tasty, entrees have great variety and flavor. The service is very exceptional and very friendly. Our weekend spot indeed!Update: Third review! Sunday Brunch, yet again. (Are you sensing a theme yet? The floor staff and bartender are always friendly, engaging, and helpful. Chef Gerry, you keep making one great buffet dish after another after another. This time, potato pancakes and lightly fried catfish. Excellent! Next review likely will be during karaoke night here.
They owe me money for hours I worked. Place is a dump coolers dont work. No labels on anything selling old nasty food and using moldy cheese for everything. Seen the restaurant manager put new shredded cheedar on top of old cheddar . I went to change pans and realized the cheese on the bottom molded up she also dropped buns on the floor and picked it up and proceeded to use it. All the meat besides the chicken is frozen. They dont wash their produce . Romaine gets cut up and not rinsed along with every other veggie. Proceed with caution at this place. Piccata, marsala and damn near every sauce and soup in there is thickened with corn starch. No love no passion. If you order just order pizza and fried foods if the fryer is fresh . If not theyll use the oil till its like oil in your car engine.
