Service is not slow as some reviewers called it, but it is rather even paced, exactly the way the French prefers. Food was superb, fresh and subtle favored. Try the risotto or the magret de canard. My husband had the risotto and he loved it. Across the street is a chocolate shop which is run by the same chef and sells delicious gourmet candies.
We stopped here for lunch, based on TripAdvisor recommendations. The only free table in the tiny restaurant was next to the toilet, so we chose to eat at one of the outside tables, next to a fairly busy road. My wife chose the Menu Du Marché at Euro 17, I the seasonal menu at Euro 28. She started with melon in port, followed by fish with a mixed vegetable gratin and a chocolate and nut cream dessert. My starter was a green salad with smoked duck, tomatoes and peaches, my main veal with the same vegetable gratin. Dessert was an overly sweet and rather anonymous cream with passion fruit. Except for my starter, which was very good, the meal was rather routine, and mine not really worth the money. Service was glacially slow, and we spent long periods gazing at our empty plates before they were taken away. With two beers, one glass of rosé and a small bottle of water, our bill was Euro 59.
Found by chance. No previous reviews read which is not our usual way! Very little English spoken and certainly no English menus, so far so good.We chose a steak fillet accompanied by a few delightful veggies and a to die for red wine sauce.Perfectly done,Followed by a tart tatin mademoiselle nod my wife had a soufflé crepe. Again delicious .Very good st emilion complemented the food.Small intimate place, busy with what appeared to a local customer base.Price 90 euros so not cheap but very well worth it. Very well paced service as well. Relaxed dress code.
Superb home cooked traditional French cuisine, from local produce, served with style and very good value on the "fixed price" evening dinner.
The food was excellent. however, the only waitress was inefficient and very unfriendly. plus: the restaurant cheats! 1 glass of 15cl of champagne for 8 euros is served a non-calibrated glass of 10cl. we talked to the waitress (wife of chef) about it and we were treated with much anger. they even reprinted the page in the menu and took out the 15cl. what a circus. their reputation is known. too bad for the good food.
