So happy I found this bakery! Marina is beyond talented and the cake she created for my daughter exceeded my expectations.
This restaurant is a fantastic spot to satisfy your sweet tooth! The owners are incredibly friendly, and the desserts are of excellent quality and reasonably priced. I can definitely see myself coming back here for delicious treats in the future.
My coworkers got me a cake from here for my birthday two years ago and I loved it. For my daughters first birthday I came in on a Tuesday and asked for a small 8” cake that could be made for Saturday. She first asked me “how OLD are you?!” I was confused. I told her that I’m 30 year old(in my head wondering WHY would that matter to her? . She basically told me I waited to long to order a custom cake. I didn’t really feel like going to another bakery as I had my mind set that the one cake I did have from here was amazing. I told her my coworkers had gotten my cake the same day, from the counter. She replied she doesn’t make those cakes already done anymore, because she doesn’t have the time. She then complained to me how she hates being there alone and keeps telling her husband she wants her own studio so she doesn’t have to tend to people that keep walking in while she is in the back. Maybe they should get a counter worker if this is a problem ? We went ahead and ordered my 8 inch cake, non custom just colorful Rosettes for $135?!? I put it on my card but as I got into my car I thought why did I just spend $135 on an 8 inch cake?! I drove up the block to another bakery and asked if they could make a custom cake for Saturday , they happily replied “sure!” I asked how much money they said “$60”. Wow! I went back to sweet serendipity and asked why she’s charging more than double for a non custom cake. She was nasty, she was mean. She said “maybe that bakery isn’t as fresh or aren’t as busy as we are” I demanded to cancel The order . After going back and fourth with her , and her nasty comments , She finally credited me back but charged me a 10% service fee!!!!!!!!!! Service fee for what ?!?!?! I’m calling my credit card to dispute this. Just rude and disgusting service. And still wondering why she cared how old I was.
After another bakery in our neighborhood closed, I took a chance on this one, and ordered and got a satisfactory cake. As a repeat customer for the same cake for a different birthday, I expected the same quality, and was specific in my requests about how it should look, relying on the expertise ' of the cake artist.. I was even remembered me from the first time. This time the cake didn 't even have the words written on it that I requested, but on a little sugar plaque about 2 ' ' wide...written in black MAGIC MARKER, the words happy birthday Anna. The handwriting on the plaque was like that of a third grader, just barely making the words fit.Not even gold or silver or colored marker to match the rest of the cake...black! When I called to have them quickly take the cake and write on it properly, the boss or whoever he is argued with me on the phone telling me that all over the world this is the way cakes are done. This store has no idea what cake artistry is. I gave him a chance to rectify it and write on it properly as they had done before before, but he hung up on me. I was shocked that he was trying to convince me to accept and to like an unacceptable product, not even up to his own former effort. I wrote on it myself with cake decorating cream to save the day.... and then the cake was dry and practically tasteless. Sad to say that leaves only one good bakery nearby...Why argue with me? All you wind up with is an unsatisfied (former) customer.
