Epona - Lyon

A truly splendid splendid setting at Hotel Dieu. Booked a table for dinner on arrival at the hotel, warm welcome to the restaurant on arrival and attentive service throughout the meal. Unusually my my wife and I ordered the same, heritage tomatoes, which were excellent not particularly challenging with good ingredients however followed by saddle of rabbit very disappointing! The main dish was beautifully presented had a very unusual soft 'mushy ' texture, which did not give a good mouth feel and really did not have a lot of flavour. Neither of us finished our meal and were somewhat underwhelmed. we finished our wine in the glorious courtyard setting but felt that we had an unfulfilled evening.

Excellent menu and top notch service . We ate here 3 evenings and each meal was superb. Wonderful service from Chloée and her colleagues. Highly recommend.

Wonderful breakfast, and nice view of river. Hotel is large and beautiful as well, we would come back again if we visit the town again

Restaurant incontournable lyonnais pour révéler tous sens gustatifs, olfactifs et visuellement incroyables… les 5 sens quasi réunis Un chef exceptionnel qui réuni à la fois saveurs et plaisirs Venant en vacance en famille régulièrement, cette nouvelle carte réveillera vos papilles et votre palais. Pour terminer un immense merci à toute l’équipe du service en salle, au petit soin avec les clients, que vous soyez seul ou en groupe. Pour résumer… tout était parfait Merci à tous

The hotel is beautiful and the restaurant is very friendly. The style is well mixed with the place. staff of good will but not necessarily well trained. the aromas are at the rendezvous, but it is necessary to specify what means "re revisited". For example, I think of strangers and uninformed French who will take the k ‘nelle quenelle’ and think very disappointed that I enjoyed a qunelle de lyon. This is a very bad idea and if the sauce is delicious, there is too much bread around this cylindrical cylinder. the rest is good but far from winning its prize. In winter, you must avoid placing yourself along the windows that return too cold.
