If you want an upscale experience with the upscale prices, go to the Brasserie on the ground level. Don't bring you own food as there are signs saying this is not allowed.
This self service comptoir is furnished by Pignol, a well known person in Lyon. But his fares here are certainly attractive but somewhat tasteless, undoubtedly due to his use of substances that keep the food from spoiling. Not only that, but the food here is rather pricy. I'd suggest bringing your own food, as the view is quite nice.
I found it a little pricey for what we got. Soggy wraps, a good soup, and an OK salad. I wanted a cocotte but they seemed to be out of the one I wanted and hadn't updated the sign. The menu also had hot dishes (that you didn't have to heat yourself, like the cocotte but they said they weren't cooking today, (on a Saturday with the he place quickly filing up? anyway, the view is spectacular but you can visit without eating there. Maybe the brasserie downstairs is better, but apparently you need reservations.
In the kind of catering, a nice place. very efficient service, the choice is interesting for this type of snack (sandwichs, hot dishes, salads, pleasant pastries, no fries/nuggets). the room offers a beautiful view of the saône. the place seems very small however for high periods of tourism, knowing that there are not so many beautiful alternatives around the museum. the surface was sufficient for a weekend in April.
Nice place, very good kitchen but lack of room.
