Field Table - Madison

This restaurant has experienced several changes in management throughout the years. Our most recent visit was generally good. They offer a large selection of wine and spirits, and the cocktails were enjoyable. The food was delicious, but the service was disappointing. The food took a while to come out, and it felt like they were short-staffed on a busy Saturday night, which was frustrating. This place has potential to be great, but it still needs to work out some kinks.

I met up for a late dinner and ordered the wedge salad, which was excellent. The atmosphere was nice and the bar drinks were very good. My friend tried a random drink and the bartender did a great job. I am just visiting town and this restaurant was recommended by my friend - I also second the recommendation.

I recently had the opportunity to visit this restaurant while working in the area, and I was eager to try it out. Unfortunately, I was incredibly disappointed by the service I received. As soon as I walked in, I was met with hostility from the woman in charge. Despite remaining calm, professional, and friendly throughout the interaction, she continued to treat us poorly. It was a disheartening experience, and while I won't be returning to this establishment, I am glad to know there are many other fantastic restaurants in the area that uphold higher standards of customer service. It's a shame that there are still people in Madison who behave in such a manner.

There's a reason this place is so empty. Ate lunch there yesterday with a friend. There were only two tables, including ours so 4 customers total in the entire restaurant. Still, it took over 45 minutes to get our meal, which was not that tasty and definitely not worth the money. (Our server was good, though. This is the second time I've eaten at Field Table. The first was last August. The food was tasty but expensive that time, and the service was slow. There are so many good places to eat in Madison; spend your money elsewhere.
