Madison Cheese Shop Cafe

A must-visit spot in Madison! We dropped by to check out the cheese selection and could have easily spent hours sampling different cheeses and learning about all the various types. We ended up leaving with an excellent assortment. The staff is friendly and well-informed. Although we didn’t try any sandwiches, they certainly looked tempting!

Excellent service, just as I remembered from my last visit three years ago. The food is delicious, though it is on the pricier side; however, the quality justifies the cost. Given how understaffed and busy they were during our visit, the food was served surprisingly quickly. I was thrilled to find that gluten-free bread was available! We'll definitely return whenever we’re in the area.

This was our second visit here. There was plenty of parking. They have a very nice selection of various cheeses. There are also other cheese related items such as meats, chips, crackers, etc. They also have plenty of good tasty sandwiches. We ordered the Mean Mama sandwich to spilt and it was very good. The only issue we had was that the sandwich took 15 minutes to prepare, that seemed like a lot for a to-go sandwich. Other than that, all was very good.

The staff here is incredible. Every member is well-informed and always manages to find a cheese I adore, even when I give them just a vague idea of what I want. Their selection is extensive. They also offer pickles, pasta, jams, spreads, olives, and nearly everything you could want to complement your cheese. Be sure to grab a grilled cheese and pick up something for your Sunday cheese board. You won't be disappointed!

When we arrived, we found the location to be hidden away, which was a big plus for us. As soon as we stepped inside, we were warmly welcomed by two young gentlemen at the counter. They kindly shared some of the menu's details and offered personal recommendations since it was our first visit. We ended up trying the Cheesy Chin, Country Mouse, Swamp Yankee, and the Mouse Trap, and each dish was fantastic. Even a week later, we're still raving about our experience. I highly recommend you go and enjoy it for yourself — you won't regret it!
