It's got nice wooden tables and Mexican type hats on the ceiling and a big wooden bar but it was strangely quiet until about 8:30 when lots of families came in. We ordered a bottle of white wine and a beer. The wine came with earthenware bowls to drink from interesting. I suspect this place gets quite buzzing later on but the atmosphere was a bit lacking when we went.
We kind of stumbled upon this restaurant when looking on huertas for an inviting place to eat. It looked casual , a little bohemian and put us at ease as soon as we arrived. We ordered octopus, padron fried green peppers, and the cheese balls for starters and continued with the fish for the main course. It was very good and reasonably priced.. OVerall a pleasant surprise. We recommend it for those visiting the barrio de las Letras in Madrid.and are looking for less than formal fare.
Ordered the 'pulpo a la gallega ' and rice with seafood, paired with a Bierzo 'crianza ' wine. Everything was delicious and the price was fair. The restaurant has a 'cantina ' atmosphere, as its name indicates. My party didn 't have any problem with the service.
Sitio recomendable.
