Montesa - Madrid

Stubbled across this humble cafeteria walking to the market on my first morning in Madrid. It had been a late night flight and I was hungry. It is a basic small cafeteria with a few tables and counter seating. The staff was immediately friendly greeting me as I entered. My spanish is limited, but I told him I was looking for breakfast. He looked at me and guessed tocino (bacon), huevos (eggs), pan (bread) and cafe (coffee). I nodded in agreement, but opted for a coca cola instead of the coffee. The food arrived promptly and was exactly what I was expecting and needed a hearty breakfast. Later, he let on that he spoke rather good english and we chatted about Spain and the USA. I have tried a couple other places around for breakfast and the food is similar or worse, but none compare to the service and friendliness found here. It has a Cheers vibe where many of the patrons seemed to know each other or be known by the staff. On one of my visits, I felt the bacon tasted a little sour and pointed this out to him. he quickly checked the new package of bacon he had opened that morning and tested it. It seemed ok. Instead of arguing with me, he presented me with a plate of prosciutto and newly cooked eggs. Later I suspected that the sourness might have come from the two slices of lemon in my coca cola. I was happy with the second plate and impressed with the service and customer care. I will continue to visit during my stay.

Surprisingly pleasant and enjoyable experience. We were walking to plaza de toros and decided to drop in. Everyone was sweet and made our experience amazing.

A pesar de que el sitio lleva mucho tiempo, para mi fue un descubrimiento muy agradable. Buena comida a buen precio y un servicio muy amable y profesional.

Buena calidad y muy buen servicio , platos muy bien elaborados abundantes y muy bien presentados con un precio razonable con la calidad y abundancia de las raciones

En Cazorla siempre salimos satisfechos. La comida de calidad y con un preparación exquisita siempre. El servicio, estupendo. El otro día pedimos una lubina para compartir los 6 que éramos. Acierto total. Espectacular de rica.
