Sabor Norteno - Madrid

I get it: there are so many amazing restaurants in Madrid that you are gonna immediately doubt my title. But I swear, this is the best one. I even thought about not writing this review in order to keep this gem just to myself. The place is very simple and the price is unbelievable. The food is just perfect the seasoning, texture, flawless balance of acidity and spice... I'm drooling just by remembering their ceviche and their seco de pato (the one in this pic). Their causa is also out of this world. Whenever you are in Madrid, do yourself a favor and go!

Entrandas very large portions. It would have been enough for me! Main courses were HUGE! Very filling. Staff were friendly and helpful with recommendations and tailoring the meal. Menus detailed with allergens. The mixed ceviche was divine! And the maiz cake was delicious and very filling.

By now, this is an utterly biased review because this local gem has become like an extension of our home. We came here once, were well received, loved the vibe and food, and a year later, it is one of our regular neighborhood hangs. There are many dishes we have yet try. We keep coming back to the delicious ceviche (I prefer the fish one to the mixed seafood version) and the unbeatable chicken special. Half a chicken is 12 euros, a whole one is 20. This comes with a basic salad and delicious fried potatoes. We often order a half a chicken (for two) plus a little side of yuca and a couple of cold (and cheap) beers and we are set. I always ask for a little dish of hot red pepper salsa. This is your classic cheap and cheerful joint. The comfort zone.

Nunca había probado este tipo de comida, sin duda regresaré más veces, gran toda la atención, así como tu pollo a la panty y al ceviche. Estoy recibiendo agua.

No conocía la comida peruana, ahora me declaro un fan incondicional de ceviche y pollo a la brazie. Todo excelente.
