So I knew I had to come back and try it one night, and last night was the night and I am so glad I did it! vinny and I sat down and had a frozen margarita that was good, but needed a little more tequila. we asked for chips and salsa and we served homemade chips and two different hot sauces. one was a green sauce and one was smokey, both hot. they do not serve their typical salsa, which was a little disappointing, but they gave us pico de gallo and that was so good we got two small bowls of it and these bowls were not so small. my friend ordered the steak tacos and the chicken tacos and I ordered the laguna botana with a sortiment of appetizers and let them tell them that everything was fresh and homemade and tasty and I cannot wait to go back. I have pictures.
Oh my gosh. Since moving to Mahopac 3 years ago, this has been my most frequent go-to for food. They've never been anything less than amazing, and having them open during this time has been a blessing. Love this place!!!!
Hands down best Mexican food in this area. You would eat here even if the service was Soup Nazi-esque but the staff is wonderful as well. After a slight mix up with a catering order the owner returned to our house with an additional tray of food as a courtesy. I recommend them to anyone looking for authentic Mexican food. Try the steak tacos; they 're wonderful.
While making a purchase at the local liquor store, my husband I were debating where to go for dinner. It was suggested that we try Laguna, we would not be disappointed. That was exactly our experience. What a find in our own backyard! We are definitely planning to return once this pandemic is over, until then we will try their take out
This is my hidden gem. It looks like a bodega (corner store) but surprise there's a little take out restaurant in the back. There's good Mexican food hidden there. There tacos are good and so are their combo meals. I usually get the steak with rice. It never disappoints. Side note: call it in so it will be ready when you get there. The bodega end has a lot of Ingredients and great tortillas. I love their Spanish sodas. Yum!! Give this place a try! It's good Mexican food take out without the expensive price tags.
