The dishes are not only delicious but also easy to enjoy. The curry is rich and creamy, while the Dahl is the best I've ever tasted. Make sure to treat yourself to a meal here, but be sure to come hungry and bring friends so you can sample a variety of dishes!
I visited this restaurant during my trips to Maidenhead, and it's just a quick taxi ride to Cochem. The ambiance is fantastic, with plenty of options on the menu at reasonable prices. I had one of the best lamb dishes I've ever tried here. Unfortunately, I couldn't check in because there is little to no mobile signal, and there’s no Wi-Fi available. I would definitely return!
We ordered a variety of dishes: the meat samosas were quite good, but the vegetable ones were lackluster. The chana masala was decent, and the mushroom bhaji (which turned out to be mushrooms in a sauce rather than pakoras) was okay as well. Both the chicken jalfrezi and the rehana were very spicy and enjoyable, as was the aloo gobi. However, the sag paneer was overly sweet and not pleasant, and the paneer shashlik was burnt and tasteless. The naan was fresh and tasty, but the puris were a bit oily and doughy. I didn’t try the rice, but it looked as it should. As for dessert, I wouldn’t recommend the Eton Mess unless you’re looking for something that bears no resemblance to the actual dish. The 'kulfi' was just regular ice cream—creamy and delicious, but not true kulfi. The gulab jamun was a bit small in portion but quite tasty. The coffee was strong and good. Service improved significantly when an older gentleman attended to our table, as the younger staff struggled with English and got our order wrong a couple of times. All in all, it was an enjoyable experience, and I would definitely consider returning. It’s somewhat similar to Bina Tandoori in Caversham or Spice Merchant in Henley, but it’s nice to try something different.
Lovely atmosphere, great food, great service. The papadums were very well spiced, not too hot, and flavorful. The chicken tandoori was tender and not dry. The aloo gobi potatoes were tasty properly textured. The cauliflower bhaji was quite unexpected in that it wasn't deep fried and was also well spiced. Careful not to order too much!
Best Indian food outside of London, and best ambience in an Indian restaurant anywhere in England. Service could be more charming, but the dining room is cozy and attractive in the evening, with fireplaces in every room and white tablecloths on the tables. Lamb bhuna is fantastic. Tandoori is quite good. I can't wait to visit again.
