Gaab Kao - Maidstone

I scratched my head sitting their in the fantastic Gaab Kao restaurant. It is conveniently located on the high street. The interior neon light detailing is straight out of Bangkok. The staff are lovely, helpful and attentive. There is loads of comfy toasty seating. The menu is extensive and offers traditional Thai dishes and a range of specials to suit you herbivore, carnivore or pescatarian needs. The menu even includes a huge list of allergen details associated with the dishes. So what about quality and value for money? It ticks both boxes admirably. I can only think it lacks customers during the week is because of the competition. Anyway, all the better for diners that do decide to go. You can happily stretch out and enjoy beautifully prepared Thai food in a trendy, sociable environment.

Excellent customer service and food here. Staff are friendly and attentive and the food is on point. I've spent alot time in Thailand and the food here took me back. Being from Australia good thai food is plentiful and since moving here I thought it was going to be a mission to find good thai food again having already tried a couple places already. I went with two friends, and we shared a mixed plate among the three of us. Each of us also tried a special dish, along with a dessert. Everything we had was absolutely tasty, with the exception of a few small fragrant fish cakes on the plate that I found a bit off-putting. As a non-smoker, I especially wanted to try their two types of Thai cream soda. I opted for the green flavor, and I must say, it was amazing! I could have easily drunk a gallon of it—it was like drinking fruity bubble gum! If you enjoy sweet drinks, you'll definitely love it. The only downside is that it's a cash-only restaurant. However, we were aware of this beforehand, and there's a clear sign at the entrance reminding customers to withdraw cash before entering. Our mixed plate, special dishes, and dessert came to a total of £30, and the cream sodas were £2.50 each. I look forward to returning!

I had an incredible dining experience at this restaurant. From the phone reservation to the meal itself, everything was seamless and fantastic from start to finish. They were very welcoming and accommodating for the group of 10 I organized for my fiancée's birthday celebration. The food was outstanding, and the staff were polite and friendly throughout our meal. I have no complaints whatsoever, and they even kindly sang happy birthday to my fiancée. I would definitely recommend this place and look forward to returning!
