The Romney - Maidstone

The food was quite good overall. I had the calf's liver, but it had quite a few inedible bits in it. My dining companion enjoyed the trout, though. I wasn't a fan of the ambiance, as some nearby diners were quite loud; one individual had dementia, which made it unavoidable. However, the service was excellent, and the waiting staff were very pleasant.

I made a reservation for lunch today at 12:30 PM. When I arrived, I was told that the kitchen was closed and only sandwiches were available. Additionally, they couldn't find our reservation. It's frustrating because they need to ensure that their information on OpenTable is accurate. Furthermore, the location is quite out of the way, making it a waste of time to come here!

I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. It's a hidden gem tucked away in the park. The service and food were exceptional and very affordable. Everything was cooked to perfection using fresh ingredients. Our waitress, Storm, was wonderful. We enjoyed a beautiful view of the terrace. I will definitely return. I even mentioned at the time that I’m torn between spreading the word and keeping it a secret so it stays just as it is!
