Firstly, they have cheaper drinks than most of the other restaurant bars in the area. Good drinks too. They have a wide selection of wines, whiskeys, scotches and cognacs. Secondly, they have rather good Spanish food. My favourite would be their salpicao and canonigo. The canonigo is divine! Fluffy meringue with custard sauce. So good. Thirdly, I like the eclectic and slightly gothic design of the place. They have a whole wall of books and really comfy couches in the inside, with rich, dark paneling and chandeliers designed to look like it's melting wax. It's location also adds to the charm of their alfresco. It's in the middle of Greenbelt so there's this really nice view of both the mall garden and the people passing by. It's lively but quiet and always a pleasure to visit and relax at. It's not outrageously expensive, and the prices of their drinks is like one extensive happy hour but Cerveseria isn't cheap either. It's menu ranges from 150 950. It's a good place to treat yourself at every two weeks or so. The servers are always polite and the food is well handled. It sometimes takes quite a bit of waving before they'll notice you though. Especially if like me, you patronize the place in between 1 4 in the afternoon. Their bar outside also has a tv which is always on Star Movies. It's a decent place for drinks and a snack. I would recommend it anytime.
Filipinos are drawn to rice. I'd like to believe that we have a genetic disposition towards the grain so that I have something ng to blame for my weight gain. I feel this is why most Pinoys are wary of entrees that don't come with rice in upscale restaurants. Looking at it the other way around, this I feel is the reason that we are drawn to all things paella. You can owe it to the aforementioned love of rice, or to the centuries we've spent colonized by the Spaniards, but as long as its paella, we as a people will immediately feast on it like there's no tomorrow. Cerveseria in Greenbelt 3 knows our amor for the dish so every once in a while, they offer up unlimited paella for a steal price. If you're not to keen on stuffing yourself silly, you can get a more modest serving. Make sure to eat the slightly overcooked rice near the bottom as it has all that paella flavor!
My family is a big fan of Cerveseria and we love treating our balikbayan and foreign guests here because not only is the food amazing, but the ambiance is perfect. It's pretty quiet whether it's during dinner time or lunch, the restaurant decorations are cute. Honestly, not very Spanish-y, but cute. It's well-lit and the bookshelves have actual books in them! Let me give you a run down of what my family usually orders. Setas Shimeji Fritas is one of the appetizers that we absolutely love! We usually order for an extra order or two (or three or four or maybe even five! because we always finish it so quickly. It's basically shitake mushrooms, battered and fried and it comes with a aioli dip that is to die for (really, it is. I mix it with everything! Huevos Rotos con Tocino is basically string fries with bacon and egg. I promise, Chef Gilbert made quite a a creation with this one! I mean, bacon, egg and potato? What more can you ask for? Of course we also order the usual tapas like gambas, calamares, croquettas (with goat cheese! Yum! , jamon, chorizo and queso. But the two appetizers I mentioned first are my favorites! For our main course, we're usually really full from the appetizer so we order share-able food like two plates of paella (usually the negra and cerveseria plus of course a Cochinillo! If you prefer to order only one paella, the negra is your best bet! And make sure you order (a lot of extra aoili to mix it with! If you're stomach still has space, go for the canonigo! It's nice and light and won't give you (much of a food comma. :
I can't say too much because we didn't order a lot but from what we learned... Sangria was really watered down and nachos are actually just the chips and you pay extra for a tiny bowl of salsa. Other people's meals looked ok I guess? Won't be coming back.
One of our most favorite spots in the Greenbelt area. Great food and sangria, cold beer. Just hold your nose as you pass through the tables of nasty sex tourists (shame on you, you nasty Caucasian perverts!!! and the girls, and once in thr6e restaurant you're transported to another place.
