Ever since we first visited, we held dinner with friends, team mtgs, Xmas lunches here because of their food. There are times we will not choose to dine here when they don’t have bulalo. The usual order and must try are bulalo, kare kare, sisig, tofu sisig, lechon kawali. Our rice record? cups for Warning, if you’re on a diet, you won’t be able to stop yourself from enjoying their food without rice. Ganun ka sarap ang food nila. A true embodiment of comfort.
Service is okay. We booked for a table but our friends were late so we asked to wait. They still held our table reservations after 20 minutes of waiting for our friends. What's not good about their service is when I asked for a refill, I had to ask 2 times. Although, we ate on a heavy schedule, so I guess it's okay. What threw me off is the price to food ratio. Their dishes looked good and appetizing but taste was lacking. Food was okay, but I can't call it good.
Mangan is a simple Filipino restaurant, that offers a classic menu of Filipino favorites. They make sure that everything on the menu is familiar and at the same time, interesting to everyone. Despite the simplicity of the menu, the offerings were both good and exciting to try! Prices for each dish were not bad too, being the reason why my family and I decided to eat here at the first place. It was lunch time and my family and I decided to try out Mangan to satisfy our budget- friendly Filipino food cravings. The place was fairly big. It had modern interiors and the atmosphere was cold yet comfortable. It felt like the perfect place to have a wonderful and satisfying lunch. The staff were friendly and attentive, just how it should be. They were quick in offering us a glass of water and they were also helpful in recommending their best sellers which made it easier for us to order. After awhile of browsing through the menu, we were ready to order. We chose the classic yet interesting dishes just to be sure. In around 15-20 minutes, our food has arrived. We had the following: ➿ Pinakbet with Lechon Kawali ➿ (220 php) *Good for 2 people - You could tell that the veggies use were fresh since they still had a good crunch to it. The Lechon Kawali on top was just okay, nothing extraordinary. It was also overcooked, making it really tough and chewy. ➿ Sisig ni Mely ➿ (260 php) * Good for 2 people - Tastes just like ordinary Sisig. Flavor was good but I find this dish too oily. ➿ Lengua Caldereta ➿( 350 php) *Good for 2 people - I'm honestly not a big fan of lengua but, this dish was heavenly good! The lengua is seared well, giving it a crisp exterior and a soft and moist interior. The dark red tomato sauce that went along with the lengua was also really enjoyable. It was sweet and tangy, just how I like it. This was my favorite dish among the others. ➿ Gatang Pla Pla ➿ (240 php) * Good for 1 - the fish was cooked perfectly and the sauce was seasoned nicely. You can really taste the ginger that was infused into the coconut cream sauce. ➿Plain Rice➿ (40 php) Overall, Mangan didn't fail to dissapoint me. I wouldn't say the food here are the best I've had but it's good enough for what you pay for. I guess I would give this place a second go if I crave for Filipino comfort food with a tight budget.

Mangan offers variety of Filipino dishes from appetizers, main dishes and afternoon snacks. Tried their Sinigang na Hipon, Laing and Grilled Bangus. It was okay. The place was also fine. Many Filipino people eat there for dinner. They offer reasonable prices as well.
