Ordered from here from delivery via Foodpanda. Food came very well packed with adequate amounts of Katsu sauce and mustard sauce. Loved the tuna sashimi. This was really fresh and tasty The tonkatsu set and the oroshi Katsu (with grated radish) set were both good, but a little dense and difficult to chew in parts. Not absolutely crisp as I like it. All the same, it's pretty good and good value for money too.
Went for a dinner here last night. Simple interiors, but the food and service are very good. I ordered a Hirekatsu Cheese Set. It's serving is very reasonable, was really tended, and tasted very well. The pricing could turn off some people, but it's lower and definitely more competitive than other Japanese restos like Kimukatsu and Yabu. Definitely I'll come back here, I wanna try their Curry Katsu :
This small Japanese restaurant will definitely surprise you with their cooking. They don't focus much on ambiance and let their food do all the talking. Tonkatsuya is on-par or even higher with commercially-located Japanese restaurants. They're even recognized in spot.ph Top Tonkatsu Restaurants in Manila. When the sister-in-law came home a couple of weeks ago, of course, there's got to be a lot of eating out. Lol! . This time, we tried this restaurant in Poblacion in Makati. It was hard to find, it was actually hidden if I may say. We got there around 12 in the afternoon already, and I was surprised as it looks like we're the first customers, even the staff looks surprised because we're too many and it doesn't look like they're used to it. They looked overwhelmed actually. I think because as I've said, the place was really hidden, you've got to go inside a building first to get into the restaurant, and the building's pretty small.
