I 've spoken to her on a few occasions now. I 've asked about the source of the products she sells and she was evasive of the question. She also has social media profiles which are less than credible. This person claims to promote health with healthy drinks and detox cleanses yet she is an avid cigarette smoker. I think that contradicts being healthy . While I support most local businesses, I do not support this one or consider it local . I support the people of and from the islands of Hawaii. So if a real local person is promoting a business I support it 100%. Others who come here and start businesses to make money are not really part of the aina. This person who owns this business is not from the islands, she 's a mainlander. She is also very disrespectful of our culture and island. Her name is Kate Diosdado Wright and she lives in Pukalani/Kula. I strongly urge anyone reading this to think twice before supporting this type of business. There are many other superb local businesses out there.
A total let down of a $10 smoothie. Ordered a protein smoothie only to discover that not only it is nauseatingly sweet (even with unsweetened Macnut milk , but doesn't actually have any protein (no longer offered as per the girl serving . What it does have is agave syrup (not mentioned on the menu apparently that's in the recipe she's following. It also came with peanut butter (I wasn't asked whether I wanted peanut or almond when ordering and my guess is that peanut butter is sweetened also. The girl serving agreed to remake the smoothie, albeit reluctantly. Still no protein of course, but at least with almond butter and no agave. If you're going to change your menu and ingredients drastically, at least train your employees to mention these things BEFORE ordering and train them to ask which options they'd like (e.g. peanut vs almond butter some people actually have allergies to peanuts, why would anyone make that a default option ?! . Not to mention, change your menu to reflect the reality of what actually is and isn't in the smoothies.
This place is absolutely awful. If I could give it no stars I would. When I came here I ordered the açaí bowl and was extremely dissatisfied with what I got. Not only did it take forever, there was literally no one else there. The açaí was completely melted and almost warm. It was disgusting and unappetizing. Not to mention the whole menu is way overpriced and ridiculous. The girl serving also had an attitude. I asked about where on the island they get their locally sourced and organic produce. The girl gave some roundabout answer and basically not all of their stuff is locally sourced or organic. Overall this place is horrible and surprised it's even in business. I would strongly recommend saving your money and going elsewhere. Skip this place completely!
I decided to stop by this place and try it out. Thoroughly disappointed in service and quality of food. I read another review that said the açaí was liquid and gross. I had an açaí bowl and smoothie. Both were far too runny and warm. The quality was definitely not worth the price. The service was also less than good. The owner was rude and seemed less than interested in providing good service. Overall I would not recommend this place at all. Save your money. There are far better businesses on the island with better quality food.
Tried this place out for the first time and my overall experience was pretty good. I got the Tropical Honey and my brother got the Green Machine smoothie. One thing I would change about my smoothie is to ask for less honey since it was a little too sweet for me. Mixing it thoroughly did help a lot tho! Can't wait to come here again :
