Beautiful apartments, beautiful gardens, great facilities. A small walk to shops and bars on the beach. All in all a fantastic holiday.
The resort is a huge complex with several brand names in Ramada and Wyndham families. Restaurants, sports facilities and shops are shared between all resorts, swimming pools and other facilities are limited to the guests of each resort. For example, there are probably more than 10 swimming pools on site and we had access to 5 of them. The complex was built for several years and new additions seem to be made in production with sites recently for new buildings. This means that there are great differences in building style, from traditional Spanish sand colours to modern white hotels. Be careful when you look at reviews as these are all on the same page, you can read a review of a new building, but book an older one, or vice versa. We were in one of the older and very charming hotel apartments as close to the sea as possible. While the building itself is not new, it is well maintained and our two room apartment slightly sleep 2 adults and 2 children. The children slept on a sofa that was converted into a surprisingly comfortable bed. The kitchen was equipped exactly for four people (4 dishes, 4 forks, etc.) which is easily annoying when you need a fork for serving, but it is not a big problem. The kitchen also has a washing machine that is fantastic for a family with children. The sea view is beautiful, but note that the medieval highway runs along the coast, so it is between the resort and the sea. It creates some street noise, but the vegetation limits it a bit. We didn't find it annoying, though louder than we used to be at home. Since the apartment was fully air conditioned, we closed the windows at night and were not disturbed by noise (except air conditioning, but with outdoor temperatures, the 30 even in the late evenings, that was a welcome noise). Checking in was interesting. Our taxi driver believed that our part of the hotel was closed, and it can appear because it does not have its own reception. There are two receptions on site: one for the Ramada family of resorts and one for the Wyndham family. These two receptions serve all different resorts under any brand, so you should ask the taxi driver at the airport to drive you to the family reception of the brand. Book a taxi in advance by calling the hotel, a driver will stand outside the arrival at the airport holding a sign with your name on it. It costs a fixed fee of 45 euros, which is very reasonable for a 20 30 minutes drive, depending on the traffic. The nearest town is Fuengirola, which turned out to be a city with 86,000 inhabitants. It is only one kilometre away, only north along the highway (there is a steel barrier that separates pedestrians from road). Or you can go on the beach, but the loose and very hot sand makes it an uncomfortable walk. There is a small shop on the resort with very ressonable prices as there is a convenience store for tourists. If you are in Fuengirola, prices are obviously lower and the selection much larger. The city has a large shopping center, Miramax, which has a huge Carrefour inside. After a 20-minute walk from the hotel, the air conditioning at Miramax is very nice. The shopping center also has several cafes, but the cafes on the beach have much better views sans the air conditioning. Swimming pools at the resort have various forms, all have free sun loungers and many of them in our experience and not that many guests we stayed at the resort in mid-July. The guests usually seem to be French, Scandinavia and English, but this is based on the attempt to guess the languages spoken by the pool. The entire resort is very clean and well maintained, with numerous workers visible everywhere, cleaning, inclines to the gardens and everything else. Also, safety patrols drive constantly make you feel very safe and well maintained. The resort even has a doctor's office, which is open a few hours a day.
Absolutely stunning location, friendly and helpful staff. Our room has private access to two swimming pools and a private garden and balcony. Many towels as well as washing powder and dishwasher powder. Some steep hills to navigate over the complex, but the views, pools and bars are worth the effort (also let us go of the extremely delicious cuisine)
It's a fantastic place we could walk along the beach it's no fur from the club la Costa, you can find nice restaurants with in the place. Really recommend.
