Barracuda Inn Resort - Malindi

Great place to stay with great and helpful staff. I actually preferred staying in rather than going out to the beach, where some spontaneous friends will annoy you with some small talk, with the goal to make you buy something from them or go for some trip. I was unlucky to meet some guys who'd turn to be aggressive despite rejecting politely their offerings. Anyway this is out of the hotel reach I guess, but in case there's something that can be done about this. Other than this, Samuel from the animation team will surprise you with his great energy :

Ambient environment and close to the beach! Stunning sunset views and excellent customer service. The manager is friendly and casual. A great place for a family outing or a casual day at the beach. Beer prices are pocket friendly: around shs.250 for a beer.

This place is right on the beach and it is such a perfect beach. The common areas, including the pool, are very nice. What it misses is a client-service oriented staff: we checked in into a room whose AC was broken and made noise like a tractor. Having the place more rooms available, staff shouldn't haven't place us there in the first place. Next morning we complain to the gentleman at the reception at 10am for it to be fixed or a solution found. When we check the status at 4pm no action had been taken. We are suggested to move to another room, that I am even invited to see. It looks like the AC cannot be fixed on that day, and we are offered another room , but not the one I was showed... another one, as that doesn't have the key (well, later tonight there is a xou0le staying there.... ... Why showing me a room if I cannot move there? Staff at breakfast was really rude, not even good morning, terrible, it does make you start your day in a bad mood. Finally, reception couldn't figure out our bar consumption despite all the papers we signed... More weirdly, is having the Italian manager (or owner there and no action taken to improve your stay as if this issues were normal. Considering the location and access to the beach, it is a good place to stay, close to the more central part of Watamu.
