20% Mandatory Service Fee is ridiculous as it doesn’t even go to our server. Recommend avoiding this place due to their unethical and predatory practices.

If your going to add a MANDITORY SERVICE CHARGE to ensure you get a house tip....MAKE IT CLEAR at the door. I will not patron a place that will not properly pay their staff so the customer doesn't have to pay a tip on top of over priced food or bad service.

My first and probably my last visit. Very attractive interior and we sat at the bar. The man bartending wasn’t really possessed with much personality, it seemed it was a bother we were there. Small pours that were pricey for their size. I asked for a tasting of one particular wine and he told me “we can’t give tastings, our policy”. I never heard such BS in a wine bar in my entire life. Any good wine bar worth their salt offers tastings. Their wine list is filled with unusual wines (orange wines, unfiltered wines, unusual regions, etc) and it’s natural for one to want to taste something they’ve never had before buying a glass. The other server, Theo…was extremely pleasant and brightened up our day with a delicious mushroom pâté. But, as a certified sommelier who also makes and sells my wine from Napa, the No tasting policy killed my experience. The owner seems questionable anyway, stating on the menu that the house keeps all the mandatory 20% tip to pay their employees wages. It’s no wonder the male bartender had no incentive to provide good service.

Great selection but only 4oz pours which is embarrassing for $16 plus a 20% auto gratuity…? We also asked for a taste of something and were told that “tasters weren’t allowed.” Our server was very nice and accommodating but an absolute racket and insanely expensive for nothing.
