Massive portions and absolutely delicious! This is a fantastic spot for burgers and pastrami sandwiches. It’s a favorite among the locals!

Fantastic home-style kitchen. A wonderful spot that's cozy and bustling (which is a good thing). They serve excellent comfort food. I had the open lamb meat sandwich, which really gives you a sense of the character of the place.

If I had to describe Satterwhite, I would categorize it as a Virginia Diner or Country Diner, distinct from the diners you find in Maryland and Pennsylvania, which are often characterized by chrome bar stools and menu staples like patty melts and hot pastrami sandwiches. Satterwhite has its own charm; it resembles a small house that has long been transformed into a local eatery. When you walk in, you seat yourself, and if you prefer French fries over potatoes, you're in luck—they'll still engrave it (and you definitely should take advantage of that!). I've dined here three times, and the first meal I had was hard to beat: an open-faced lamb sandwich. Today, I enjoyed a delicious hot ham and cheddar sub, while Adam opted for the open turkey grotto sandwich. I almost missed what

Came to breakfast on Saturday morning and was sitting pretty fast and the food came even faster. Great place to eat a house bite.

Great service and the liver and onions were delicious. Good home cooking.
