I ended up coming to this British Beer Company with a friend on a Friday night. It was steadily busy, but we were seated fairly promptly. Reading various other reviews and driving by this restaurant numerous times, it can get very busy with long waits! British Beer Company has a wide selection of draft beers available! Our waitress quickly came over after thumbing through the drink list and she asked what we liked for beer. She was incredibly personable and gave us some recommendations based on our likings. She was spot on as we both enjoyed the beers that she suggested! As far as the menu, there are a variety of options to choose from. It's not super extensive, but enough for everyone to find something they would like. I ended up getting the Thai chili salmon, which came with white rice and broccoli. The salmon was cooked nicely and the chili sauce was good. I would have just liked the rice to be amped up a bit with maybe some spring onions in it or something? Overall, it was a great dish! I would certainly come back here. It provides a boisterous atmosphere with a great selection of beers and solid food.
YUM! I was legitimately surprised by how good the food was at the BBC (get ya minds out the gutter). Shoutout to Christian G. for picking such an awesome place for happy hour. Happy hour is from 3 6pm Monday thru Friday, 10 12am Thursday thru Saturday, and all day Sunday. We got there at 5:55pm on Friday and were able to put our order in before 6pm and get the half off pricing. Between the two of us, we ordered 3 appetizers: the Big Ben Nachos, Buffalo Chicken Dip, and British Sausage Rolls. We definitely over ordered...we weren't able to finish all of our food as hard as we tried. During non happy hour it would have cost us $40 but because we made it in the knick of time, we got 3 delicious and large appetizers for $20! The sausage rolls were awesome a thick and flavorful pork and potato sausage wrapped in puff pastry. The puff pastry was buttery and baked to perfection. I didn't care for the beer mustard but that's because I'm not a huge fan of mustard #sorrynotsorry. My friend ordered the buffalo chicken dip and even though I'm not a bleu cheese fan...I have to admit the dip was pretty tasty. A bunch of warm, ooey gooeyness to dip your tortilla chips in. I made the mistake of ordering the Big Ben Nachos...and it was only a mistake because it was HUGE. Next time we'll bring more friends to embark on the Big Ben journey. On top of the nachos was a tortilla bowl of chili. The chili was on point. So so so good and the perfect thing to dip our nachos in. The melted Vermont cheese on the warm tortilla chips was diviiiiine. It also came with a side of sour cream, pico de gallo and guacamole. That GUAC tho...BBC knows what they're doing with that guac. It was super good (way better than that Chipotle ****) which was a surprise because we didn't think a British pub/restaurant would know good guac.
This place has been on my list for a while now. Decided to check it out and what do you know, it's trivia night. Every Tuesday is trivia night so I will definitely comeback to compete. Here we go: Food We decided to get the smorgasbord bcuz it comes with a lot of items. We were ready to eat so this was the best choice. The pretzel was really good and so were the wings, tenders, potato skins and onion rings. My woman loves pretzels she approves of this one. The sticky toffee puddings desert was super good. She was only willing to share a small amount with me. Beers Samples 4 beers and landed on the ESB. They were all good but the Belhaven and ESB were my favorites. Going back to get the Belhaven next time. Service The server was very friendly and accommodating. She let me know I could sample beers since I was so indecisive on what I wanted. That was awesome to know since that is what I was use to back in KC. It is always refreshing to get good service in this area. I have learned to appreciate good service more since moving to New England. Will definitely be back. I'm so glad we checked it out. It is going to be fun exploring their beer menu. Happy Hunting Yelpers!
This giant slab of fish (the fish 'n chips) was perfectly light and crisp (and not greasy) on the outside and meaty, flaky fish on the inside. Boy do I love good fish 'n chips when I can get them and this is it! Great service and beer selection too.
Came back to a newly revamped menu, more back to basics that people know and love. Have a giant pretzel now, along with other tasty appetizers. Main menu has stayed the same, but is smaller then when they first opened. Drinks are still plentiful and they still have a huge selection for all palates. Wait staff is friendly and very good at explaining the menu, which is key in this type of business. Daily specials are amazing and will come back for the potato skins alone. Despite it being 6:30 on a weekday, wait time was nonexistent. Overall a nice pub with good food, suitable for all. Family feels more than welcome, and this is a centrally located area for date night. Plenty of parking and relaxed atmosphere.
