My actual toastie was good but both of us found some parts were lacking filling. A fair bit of my filling had spilled out into the bag making it hard to eat on the go. The price is reasonable. The vegan brownie wasn’t really a brownie but was all right. There’s not that many vegan choices on the menu. I wouldn’t have wanted to sit in because it feels like a cheap fast food place and the outside seating is on a busy road. I’d go back if I was really craving a toastie, there’s not many places you can get them, but if I just wanted lunch then I’d go elsewhere.

Quite a large selection of toasties which you can adjust to be vegan. They're really just like what you'd make at home (e.g. Heinz baked beans), but sometimes that's exactly what you want!
I had a really tasty vegan toastie the creamy mushroom cooked in coconut milk in herbs one, and I added vegan cheese to it. It was delicious and tasty! They had a vegan special as well and they will be trying out new vegan toasties. Staff were very friendly and knew what they were doing/talking about with regards to their vegan options. Will return next time I’m in Manchester, and it’s only a 12 minute walk from the station (Manchester Piccadilly).
Frankie's Toasties is a new place in Manchester I was keen to visit, as they make vegan toasties, with or without vegan cheese and you can mix and match ingredients off the menu. I contacted them to ask how they made their vegan toasties to avoid cross contamination and was told everything was cleaned down and vegan toasties cooked separately. I chose a vegan mushroom toastie made with coconut milk, garlic and herbs and my husband went for the cheesy beans toasty made with Nature Moi vegan cheese. My toasty was packed with mushrooms and with a good dribble of sriracha sauce, was a scrumptious lunch dish, so good I could have eaten another. The cheesy bean toasty was equally as good, as I could tell when hubby was licking his lips and saying he could make room for another, he was also impressed with the vegan cheese. The toasties were £3.50 each, which for a made to order fresh product is great value I think. Where does the name come from, well bull terriers have been in the family for a hundred years, so Frankie is the family pet. Highly recommended for a quick lunch or takeaway.
