Philpotts - Manchester

I ordered a latte and pain au chocolat from this cafe, but was disappointed with my experience. The latte was scalding hot and burned my mouth, while the pastry was extremely hard and inedible. Unfortunately, I was in a hurry and couldn't return them. I reached out to the restaurant via email but received no response.

The food and ingredients at this restaurant are excellent. People who think it's expensive are comparing it to lower quality options - of course it's going to cost more. The only downside is that they need a better ordering system and a wider selection of pre-made sandwiches. Although they make them fresh in the morning, having more available during lunch would be more convenient for customers looking for a quick bite. Despite these issues, I am satisfied with my experience and will definitely keep coming back.

Used to like this place although a bit more on the expensive side, nice quality for breakfast. These days its embarrassing how bad the service is. In a morning, not very busy loads of staff chatting between themselves making lunches and one unsmiling woman on breakfast for the third time today somebody got sick of waiting and walked out before being served this is with no queue)! I was there ten minutes for two slices of toast and a tea £2.60) and got no more than a scowl from the staff. Need to find a new place to go also, agree with another review about the staffs bad language. V unprofessional! colleague told me service is as bad if not worse at lunch time)

What an absolute pain to try and get a quick sandwich The most crazy queing system if you can call it a system i have ever witnessed I now avoid what was my favourite sandwich shop for the past 20 years

Language is vile between staff as can be heard from the kitchen out into the shop front. They use the what is known as 'five second rule ' when dropping food onto their floors, which I think is terribly unprofessional and unhygienic. Definitely will not be visiting again.
