While I have never written a negative review before, our experience at this restaurant was truly terrible and I feel compelled to warn others. Upon entering, the bartender immediately expressed his dislike for people and made us feel unwelcome. The atmosphere in the pub was unpleasant, with signs pleading to save the establishment. The bartender was rude to our group, even after we bought him drinks in an attempt to lift his mood. He then informed us that we were no longer allowed to order more drinks, for reasons unknown to us. This unfortunate incident could have put a damper on our birthday outing, had we not quickly found a much friendlier bar nearby. The beer was subpar and the customer service even worse. The lack of cleanliness was also disappointing, tarnishing what could have been a charming little pub.
The restaurant has a great building with tremendous history, but the beer served from the hand pull was terrible. The staff was dismissive and uninterested.
Sadly gone down hill since the landlady left and sold out. Bar staff language is to be desired. Fingers used for lemons. Great if it was a vault But maybe this is progress
If you like your Guinness in the wrong glass and rude bar staff, you’ll love it here. If you want a perfectly pulled Guinness, in the right glass, served the right way, try the Nags Head or Mulligans.
