Romano's Macaroni Grill - Mandeville

I used to work at this restaurant, so I expected to find some familiarity with the food. Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The fries were cooked in burnt oil, and it took over 45 minutes for my meal to arrive—only for it to be cold when it finally came. My server was incredibly rude, the rudest I’ve ever encountered, and seemed completely disinterested, especially on such a slow Sunday. The other servers also appeared to be hungover. I had plenty of time to observe the staff while I waited for my food to cool down before being served. I will never return to this restaurant, and I plan to share my experience with others to prevent them from having the same poor experience.

My girlfriend and I stopped by for brunch, but we ended up ordering dinner-sized entrees instead. We had steaks and margaritas, both of which were prepared perfectly. Our waitress was fantastic!

My bowl of soup was actually more like a cup because the container was only half full. Each employee seems to pack this item differently, even though I order it frequently. The tortilla strips you see in the bowl were all I received, and they barely covered the bottom of a takeout ramekin. When I asked about the cheese on the side, I was told it was mixed into the soup. I even left a tip for this!

I was one of 6 people eating in there. The bartender was super nice, but not real attentive or seeming to care about customers. The service was extremely slow, and I had to ask everyone else for refills because I wasn't getting them from him. They weredead slow, and yet they still served me cold fries. I got bottomless chips in which you are supposed to be able to get more, butnobody ever brought them to me. I ordered the 3 for me deal which was supposed to be a drink, chips, and burger and drink. Theybilled me for that, but then billed me for an extra chips. I don't understand why they had so many issues when they were deadslow. I probably won't return to this location, and will just try the Covington location next time. I would have given only 1star, but gave 2 because he was nice and a military vet.

A bit understaffed. The service was great, they just seemed a bit overwhelmed on the FOH side. Our appetizer was great, but my salad was a bit wet. The lettuce was not properly drained. I would try again, but in no rush to get there. 3.2/5
