Feedback gevenThe food here is very good and of a French style. We went and talked to David the chef and he semi customised the menu for us and provided us with excellent service. The time we had there about 3.5 hours. Frog and Kiwi also has a really nice feel to it.
Had a latte which was excellent. It did take about 10 minutes for the coffee to arrive. Fortunately we were not in a hurry.
Authentic French cuisine, drinks and atmosphere. Friendly French host David.
They had amazing food and the business was run by a family that had travelled over to NZ from France. This made the food authentic and ea h dish felt like it had a lot of love put into it. The chef came around to ask how the food was and we had a good chat. The food was divine and the chocolate fondant was the best I have ever had. This is a must see place and it has a great atmosphere.
There's a clear feeling of kindness around this restaurant. We could feel it with the waitress and the chef as well. Did we have a great experience? I think the restaurant could do with a serious upgrade. The lighting and general decor doesn't seem to fit in with the food. Having said that, the food was pretty good. It was tasty, and even though my wife's meal wasn't up to her standard, the chef was very kind and offered to fix anything. Overall, I think a restaurant is firstly about presentation. Which means the decor, lighting etc. And this restaurant doesn't score too highly on that front. In fact it does feel a bit like a diner. However, the food is pretty good. It's tasty and as I said, the intention is very good. It's hard to put down the place, but a little fixing would improve it dramatically.
