Fish fry Friday is pretty as it was always. The Coleslaw was delicious, and twice baked potatoes were good. Also shrimp fairy.
Think about American icons, baseball, mom, hot dogs, apple cake and Friday night fish fry in Wisconsin. Going to the Eagles' Club is not only a culinary adventure, but a participation in an iconic event. Especially the place is old school, type of dark with stately wood trim and decor. First we went to the bar on the first floor. No, the fries are in the basement, down the narrow wooden stairs. We took the Council to get there before 1700. After that it is really busy. There's a ritual to follow here. Belly to the bar and have a few drinks before the food. Drinks were only three mice per piece. Just before the fish frit starts, go to the restaurant area and get a number. When we got caught, we got number 20. This meant another gin and tonic and another conversation (my wife and I are quite outgoing). Finally, a happy girl took our job. I ordered Pan fried cash and my wife ordered sharp cats. My ass was really good. Better than her catfish (one thing that makes her better in the south is catfish). The Pommes were just as good as the Cole claw. The whole evening was an experience that is unique in this area. You have to try to believe it.
I've belonged to the Eagles for around 20 years! It's a friendly place you can bring your kids to. Friday Fish Frys are great! Be sure to inquire about renting it for any of your functions.
Took FOREVER FOREVER to get seated for Friday Fish Fry. We entertained ourselves at the bar....whoops..... had TOO much fun w other patrons (average age 70), it truly was a blast!
