This was an outgoing gas house between 2 other restaurants. it saw interesting, dark heavy beams, cool small corners, large interior. selection of English menus, local foods and local beers. we had the carved beak with spagetti. large portions, tasty food, fast service.
If you want to live the experience of German cuisine, this is the place to go. the menu is in German, the waitress speaks German, eating is typical of German. the place is very nice and eating is good, so it is a good experience if you want to taste German cuisine.
Visited several times. Love the food; great selection. Friendly staff. Highly recommend this restaurant for 'Flammküchen ' one of the best we 've had. Great for a couple of drinks on a lazy Sunday with friends. We take all of our visitors for at least a...couple of beers. Good open space outside, with the option to sit inside.
We were at Zentral last night on the Terrasse with a large group of friends. When the waitress came to take everyone's order, I ordered from the menu a Rumpsteak with fried potatoes (Bratkartoffel). When the food came out, everyone was served except for me. I thought a mistake had been made and my order forgotten as it was a busy Friday night. Eventually as our part was finishing their dinner the surly waitress came back and I addressed why my meal had not been brought out. She asked what I ordered and then shocked me and said , "You can't order Rumpsteak with Bratkartoffeln, only fries." I asked her why they took my order or why no one informed me, to which she replied instead of apologizing, "We don't serve Rumpsteak with bratkartoffeln, just fries." And so she had decided I would not be served without informing me... even though it was clear on their menu it was an option. NO SOUP FOR YOU! CHEESEBURGER, CHEESEBURGER, PEPSI, NO COKE. I felt as though I had been transported into a 90s sitcom. Thank you, Zentral for reinforcing the stereotype of German customer service as authoritarian and focused only on your imagined rules and not what a paying customer has ordered. By the way the burger restaurant next door has much better service and food should anyone be looking for a friendlier alternative.
