Hemmlein - Mannheim

Visiting from the USA and tried Hemmlein because we were looking for authentic German fare - Particularly, spargel as it was in season. Very happy we did! Food was excellent. Portions were huge. (We were offered a Take Away box) Prices were adequate for the amount of food but I would have preferred to pay less and get half as much food. I agree with some of the other reviewers that the waitress was a bit moody. She demanded we pay in exact change, so I'd prepare for that. She was also helpful with the menu so I decided to leave the review at 5/5.

Service can be a bit slow, but as a non-native german speaker they were pretty helpful with running through the menu. Be warned though - portions are on the large side!

Always good visited restaurant because of its original German cooking style and really good pricing for good food! Excellent place to meet friends in a relaxed atmosphere.

Food is goo in quality and quanitity! Sometimes a bit too much quantity, buz you can always take it with you.Prices are totally fine.The waitresses can be moody, but that's fine. You will forget it when you realized that it feels like you have travelled back in time a bit.It's a must if you are looking for something authentic German in downtown Mannheim!

Nice restaurant in Mannheim. The place is simple and small, however the food and the employees are great. If you are not German, the size of the portions might be a little scary! Just a lot! I tried the Jägerschnitzel with salad and Bratkartoffeln. Really worthy a second visit.
