We had the jager schnitzel which was excellent. Salad, side items, all great. Sat outside on patio...and enjoyed ourselves very much. Service was great.
We came across this place while shopping. It might not look like much on the inside, but the food is really good, mostly traditionally German, and inexpensive. The staff and their service were excellent!
This is a very traditional German restaurant by the market place. They have a vast array of German style dishes mainly from Southern Germany and the Pfalz. We both had a good sized portion of smoked salmon to start and then I had ochenbrust which...was two generous thick slices of braised beef served with a nose tingling horseradish sauce boiled potatoes and ligonberries and my wife had calamari this was also a good sized portion and definitely home made and cooked to perfection. Wine by the glass was good. The service was warm and attentive. Despite being in an old fashioned building the interior is a bit dreary and lacking atmosphere and if possible I would sit outside where they have plenty of chairs but don’t let this stop you going for a good value dinner. Dinner for two about 40 euros
Sehr gute Speisen, toll gezapftes Eichbaum. Sehr freundliche, kompetente Bedienung wir kommen gerne hierher.
Went here late one evening whilst in the area on business after asking our hotel where we could get some traditional German food. It doesn't look like much inside or out, but the food is lovely, with huge portions and extremely cheap. Main courses where about 7-10 Euros. We ended up going here three nights running. The staff (apart from one waiter that was there the first night) speak very little English, but they are very attentive and seem to go out of their way to get you what you want. They do have English menus - although it was pot luck a couple of times as the German waiter could not read the English menu :-) All the food we tried was nice - the Snitzels are gorgeous!
