Punta La Barca - Manta

My man, our six-year-old daughter, and I stayed almost a month in punta la barca. which really distinguishes this hostel from others is the community feeling of this place. we need to know many members of juans family while we were there. his mother, ana, make breakfast, and she even taught me how to cook a few dishes. inge is one of those people who really like to meet people and get to know them and they feel comfortable. we have easily joined us and it was a joy to have the host and other guests of the hostels together to interact with activities and do. it is easy to get fresh fruit and vegetables as there are lkws that come every day to sell them right in front of the door. a short walk to a tienda in the village provides all the other necessary facilities to cook. if you want a special item (such as rice/shell milk or mother butter), you can find it in the large shopping center in manta (a 30-minute drive away.) the beach is just a short walk away that is beautiful for swimming, boogie boarding or surfing. the kite surf school is 40 minutes to walk away. while we were there, when the wind was exactly right, we were able to make a trip with someone else from the hostel who went to the kite ship there. the internet is fast. close to the mobile radio towers. during the rainy season (ab januar) it is usual to lose for an hour or so when it rains. they can create a hot spot with their handy when they work from there and need to stay connected while the energy is out. they also have the internet back. this is a great place to slow down, enjoy the community, and the safe, calm feeling of santa marianita. we have just gone and hope already, once again this next year.

This place is great. it is right on the beach while I was here, I saw almost every day, the internet is great, and inge and juan are great. I can't recommend this place enough. it is the perfect place to relax. the city is a little small, but it has the foundations. also they can take kite surf lessons and they are not too far from two national parks. I had a great time.

Ran by a very nice couple and two adorable kids. Everything you need and more to unwind and relax. Surf, SUP, kite, nature, beachtennis,...

Nice place with a nice vibe run by cool owners. It's a hostel but camping is also possible. WiFi is available and kitchen to make own food. Great views over the ocean.

It is a very nice hostel, nice and helpfully stuff. I felt very welcome! a quite beach and peacful place without many tourrists. Unfortunutly the room where we slept wasnt very clean tho.. some animals feces felt at our bed at night,two times.. there wasnt a mosquito protection
