Trattoria Da Biagio - MARATEA

We went to Maratea to visit the land of my Grandparents. While exploring the area, we came across a jewel of a restaurant, Ristorante Santa Lucia da Biagio. We were happy to see a parking lot in the front of the restaurant, it was a big convenience to park on property. The restaurant is off the main road where it is calm. We were welcomed by Teresa, host and our waitress, she was wonderful. The decor is warm and cozy, typical in Basilicata. There were plenty of options on the menu. The Parmigiana di Melanzane was to die for and is a signature dish. Everything we ordered was amazing, it is 5 stars all the way. We even had entertainment provided by Francesco, who played the accordion. I never heard anyone play the accordion like he did, he was amazing. Afterwards, the Chef, Bonaventura, came to our table to say hello and check in on us. We had the best after diner drink, Semprefreddo, which I can't find anywhere in the states. I will definitely go back to Santa Lucia and I strongly suggest you visit too. I loved this place.

Lovely restaurant in Maratea. The food was very tasty and fresh. I had the raviolis with ricotta and then I had fish. The raviolis were super good, freshly homemade pasta with real ricotta cheese, and the fish was as fresh as it can be, perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. Would definitely come back! :

Our fish was well-prepared delicious, the house wine was very good. Tezzy was wonderful.....she doesn't speak English we don't speak Italian, but she worked with us to help us order. A wonderful experience. We highly recommend this wonderful restaurant.

Can't understand the great reviews here. Very, very simple dishes, without any refinement, very very simple wine. Nice, old fashioned place, little outside seating close to the road. Service is extremely slow and uninspired. Restaurant was almost empty and we waited one ! hour for our extremely simple pasta. No excuses from the owners. Seems to be normal. Rest of the courses same tempo. Food is really nothing special, even the stuffed aubergine I can do better at home. No handmade desserts, only average ice-cream

The food was delicious! We had great service from Teresa and found that the prices were very reasonable. We'd definitely come back!
