Ant House Steakhouse - Mareeba

This pub has a delightful and cool ambiance, with staff who seem to enjoy working there. It was surprising to find art in the ladies' room. The ordering station and kitchen are well lit by a very long skylight window. The bar can be a bit intimidating. I ordered the slow-cooked beef rib pie with mushy peas, gravy, buttered mash, and onion rings, which may sound basic but every ingredient was cooked to perfection. A true hidden gem!

The Gateway is a significant part of this town's history. I truly appreciate the design and overall our visit was pleasant. The children enjoyed the playground, which was clean and enjoyable. However, I was not impressed with the head chef who was seen eating while preparing our food. The management was professional and polite, and the wait staff was very professional and engaging.

Located on the main street of Mareeba, this cozy little restaurant has a charming atmosphere. Reservations are not necessary, as the reception was welcoming and led us to a table. The handsome and hospitable gentleman who welcomed us to the hotel and restaurant made us feel right at home. The food was delicious and served quickly and freshly by a friendly waitress. My daughter and I had a delightful lunch and overall, this restaurant is at the top of my list. I will definitely be returning for another meal in the future.

Always a great experience each night we’ve been there. The food hasn’t missed a beat and is definitely worth going for! An all round good vibe place and such lovely friendly staff. Would recommend to anyone passing through or stopping in Mareeba. And a special shout out to Sarah for doing my Easter tickets while I had dinner, your a **** legend. You go girl!

Awesome Pub!! Amazing meals. If you are nearby and hungry.. do yourself a favour and have a feed. And on top of that, the staff are really nice and know their job. Highly recommend!!
