However, we were greeted warmly by the server Karen, which was the only reason I did not give this place just 1 star. My husband and I ordered the Gumbo, a New Orleans signature dish. What came out can only be described as vegetable water. There was absolutely no taste or seasoning what so ever. The added okra and celery were crunchy and tasteless. The shrimp that topped the dish tasted as if they had been recently been dethawed under a kitchen faucet. After 3 spoonfuls, I knew that I would not be able to finish this dish. My husband tried valiantly tried to doctor his up to no avail. Anyone can open a seafood place and become successful, but if you are going to hang the marker that says that you serve New Orleans food; I would love the place to know what New Orleans food tastes like. Keep up the good work Karen.
Best food hands down! I highly recommend the Shabang sauce! The Tonito was PHENOMENAL!
Reading reviews.. looks like Russian Roulette. We were on the plus side though. Service was slow. Food to large party ahead of was slow coming from kitchen looked slow.BUT .... our food was served hot, very tasty, well seasoned, and we were sopping up the special sauces with the onion rings and hush puppies.Ate the left overs today for lunch, and the soup was intact (not too much grease and oil) and battered fish was also good. No signs of over oiling. You pay your money and take your chances. It was worth it for us to have authentic scratch cooked meals. Very very good and tasty.
My experience here was absolutely horrible. My family and I (about 12 of us) are in town for vacation and decided to come to this restaurant being that it was right next to our Hotel. The staff was very nice and Welcoming and sat us down right away. We ordered our meal and waited and waited and finally after about 40 mins two of the meals arrived. The presentation of the food was absolutely ridiculous everything was fried so hard and had no taste to it (nothing was seasoned). I ordered a Shrimp Po’Boy sandwhich and Jambalaya that never arrived which was unacceptable. Many of the items were overpriced for what was ordered. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Orlando I-Drive and I hope this location will take the time to actually provide edible food for their customers!
Oh my goodness delicious! We were a party of 15 and they were extremely welcoming. Karen was superb and went above and beyond getting us settled, even as she was leaving her shift. Stellar customer service. The portions and prices were extremely plentiful and the flavor was DELICIOUS. We ordered the King Feast and added one pound of green mussels and it was excellent and shareable for two. Definitely recommend getting the Shabang flavor with medium spice. We will have to come back!
