All of the food was fantastic! However, the second time I was so disappointed. The botana didn’t have avocado or olives on it and the tamales were so bad… they literally looked like a coney dog. That was back in February. I’ve still tried to get it at least 8 times since then. Every single time they’ve been closed. Except today! I was so excited! However, I hung up after being on hold for more than 10 minutes. I understand being busy and lack of help- but being on hold that long was excessive.Photo is a tamale, not a coney dog just fyi.
Cute little place. Clean. I can see it getting loud easily on a busy night.Mild salsa was pretty bland, spicy wasn't spicy but at least had flavor. Chips are great; thick, crunchy and fresh.I got the tampiquena, steak was tender and flavorful, rice left something to be desired, beans were good (hard to mess up refried beans). It came with an enchilada as well and I wasn't a huge fan of the mole, but the cheese was great. Guac was starting to brown and could have used some more lime. They did have a great drink list with multiple mixed drinks, margaritas, liquors, beer and wines.Overall there aren't many Mexican places in this area, it was good enough to go back.Side note: if you've never been to Marine City, know that you'll need to park in the street or down a few blocks because there is no parking lot. Everything is within a couple blocks though, just like any downtown.Parking: On the street.Dietary restrictions: There are GF options if you get corn tortillas.
We went with a party of 4. They were short staffed and overwhelmed. 1 server and 1 cook for the whole place. We know we would have to be patient and we did wait a little while for our food. Over all it was a good experience. Food wasn’t the best I’ve had but was good enough to come back.
I’ve only been here once but it honestly might be my new favorite place. I wish they were open a little bit more. But the vibes are amazing.
This was my first time here. I was looking for a Mexican restaurant as I live in Algonac. My husband ordered the enchilada meal and I ordered the super nachos. The amount of food was well worth the price that we paid. It was very appetizing and appearance and taste. We will definitely order from this place again. My husband said it tasted very authentic! Thanks LA Casa de Rosa.
