Feedback gevenIn a word, disappointing. Poor customer service. While the food and beverages are fine, service leaves much to be desired. A mistake was made on an order and no responsibility was taken by the staff. Further to that, at 6pm a staff person came out and declared everyone has to leave (the outside patio) now. Will not be going back to this location. Typically I only write positive reviews, I have to be really dissatisfied to write a negative review.
Im writing this review objectively as I myself as I myself work in Customer Service for more than 20 years and am a pastry Chef and I know that it’s tough, and customers are not always nice. With that being said I came to you store on Sunday to meet a friend that I haven’t seen in years to have a coffee and chit chat. We sat on the patio and started catching up and time got the best of us since we were so happy to see each other. About 10 minutes passed by and we hadn’t gone in to order yet, this lady stampedes toward our table with an extremely rude tone “did you order yet?” Not a hello, how are you? Can I help you with anything … nadaI replied, not yet we’re about to. She continues to walk to the end of patio and walks back and says “I’ve already given you a warning ”. We looked at each other in disbelief and I asked if she was the manager- she said “ no I’m the supervisor” while she arrogantly walked away. The attitude and lack of customer service skill is shocking for anyone to be in that position. I said to my friend , customers have unfortunately probably taken advantage of patio- and that’s why she acts like a bull dog now, but honestly it’s not an excuse.This front line “supervisors” need to be thought that they never know who that customer is walking in and each and everyone of them should be treated well. Make them feel happy and welcomed and you know they will return.Don’t give staff members who don’t have the skill set work front of house and customer service. Let them work in the kitchen, or something else.This person also set the tone for the other ppl working there who also looked just as miserable.Thanks,One lost customer.
Always been a fan of Aroma offerings. I especially like this location not only for the friendly and courteous staff but especially the patio. It is always kept clean and I can not think of a better place to beat the heat and enjoy an iced coffee with friends.What is also nice is that they are available on UberEats and Skipthedishes. So on those lazy or cold days you still get access to great food and drinks.Keep up the great work Aroma Markville.
Slow service. I ordered a 1/2 sandwich, smoked salmon (nothing required cooking). A small coffee, Americano. Again nothing special. Waited also 30 mins which is really ridiculously slow. I don’t recommend. I came around 12:30 so while it might be lunch, add staff to the kitchen. Cream/milk/skim pitchers were empty and never refilled.
It hurts to write this review, but I think it would be a disservice if I didn 't.For the record, amongst all chain coffee shops, Aroma is my favorite. I 'm sure that amongst the many reviews I have written, Aroma cafes across the GTA have quite a few 5 star ratings from me. Unfortunately the markville one doesn 't get anything more than this from me. The warm drink was as expected, the same aroma flavour u like, no complaints there. The service leaves a lot to be desired.I came here to get some work done and have a hot drink. I got myself the only table available which had a electrical output so I could charge my computer while I sat there. This was a 4 ppl table and I was the only person who would use it. One of the servers rushed to me and rather rudely told me that I was 'not allowed to sit there '. I was taken aback, and when he explained that this was a 4 ppl table, made perfect sense to me. I asked him to help me find another spot which could accommodate me (I was dining in), to which he replied that it wasn 't his problem to do so. He was very rude and rather aggressive constantly stressing that I was not allowed to be on that table, the place was mildly busy, and the table I was asked to leave was left unoccupied for another 40 minutes. To avoid an angry confrontation with this unpleasant human, and to not create a scene I packed my things and moved from that table. Given I could only sit on single tables, I had to be seated next to the door, a rather unpleasant experience for working given the commotion and a constant draft. I am a generous tipper, if only I could go back in time and not give this staff a single cent.Given the number of negative reviews for similar staff incompetency, I know I couldn 't be the only one. I hope that the management here takes actions before they keep losing customers. I for one would rather go to the many other options at this mall.
