So, even though we originally came to Cafe Hollywood for their chicken wings, I couldn't pass up the $5.99 All Day Breakfast.
I recently enjoyed a late-night feast at this restaurant and absolutely loved the wings. They were just as crispy and well-fried as the wings at the original location. I'm always impressed by how Chinese restaurants like this know how to deep fry chicken wings to perfection, ensuring they aren't over-fried and that the meat inside remains tender and moist. The exterior was wonderfully crispy and light, making for a delicious meal. I always choose the Pepper Chili flavor and it never disappoints.
I dropped by at around 3pm on a Saturday afternoon for their afternoon tea menu. This is their second location after a successful long term run at Market Village. Inside, it is very spacious with very nice booth seating and bar area. There are television screens across the restaurant to keep you awake. I ordered their French Toast with a Hong Kong Milk Tea for a low, low price of $3.50. My uncle ordered their fried Chicken Wings with potato chips for $3.50. My aunt ordered their Garlic Bread with Russian Borscht soup for $4.50. My French Toast was excellent, very crispy and just came out of the deep fryer. Paired with the milk tea, it was a nice afternoon delight. The Chicken Wings did not come in a large portion, however the Garlic Bread combo was huge and well received. Not a bad place to go for a snack.
The restaurant at this spot is much more upscale than the one by market village. We decided to try the wings, opting for the honey garlic flavor. The dish also came with fries and gravy. The taste was exceptional and the portion size was quite satisfying for both of us.
To be honest, this place has landed downhill. I use too often and decided to come back after eating and will not bring them back my business. came as a party of 4, the male waiter sat us next to the washroom, when the half of the restaurant on the window was empty, so we asked to be switched, so we can observe the game (part of the reason that this place was a candidate on sport nights), and the waiter gave an rude attitude, I really don't want to give them how ww is that to mean? the restaurant was not even busy. whatever, we have to keep ordering, the food quality was honestly such a disappointment. the happy meal on the menu came cold, the fried pork was dry and blanching, baked fish with spaghetti was sooo salty, it was not edible and the cream sauce was so thick and disgusting. nothing about dinner was deceitful. just what I can say was decent the wings they had, but that was also super fat. to the bad experience and the less than ideal food, we were not offered the coffee or tee that came with the combos and it had only my thoughts after the fact that we left. absolutely terrible experience and a demolition. there are much better options now in markham for hk cafe eating, definitiw not good eating or service here more, it is a shame that this place has become a dump, but take her business elsewhere.
