Kiu Japanese Restaurant - Markham

Excellent service: we were a group of 11, 5 adults and 7 teenage girls, without reservations for lunch, they were very accommodating and arranged the tables at the bar area to fit us all in. Service was fast, drinks offered immediately and food orders taken as soon as we were ready to order. Food also arrived accurately and promptly. We had a few people in our party with diet preferences and they went out of their way to accommodate them. Food was delicious, excellent quality and well priced with a lot of options. Location was upstairs inside a Cineplex mall complex and a little confusing to find and parking was a bit tricky but there was still enough free parking and well worth any inconvenience to get there.

I've been to a lot of Japanese restaurants and this is one of the best. I was blown away by the freshness of all the ingredients, especially the seafood. The presentation for every dish was stunning as well. There were 3.5 diners in our group and even though we stuffed ourselves, it didn't break the bank. The only reason I didn't give a better ranking was because our server kept forgetting things like drinks and to put in food orders a few times which was a bit irritating. There is ample free parking as it is part of a larger mall with a movie theatre so the lot can get a bit crazy. Definitely a place to go to.

Always see the place on my way in the gym. The restaurant looks very fancy and it was. To many all you can eat Jap restaurants in Markham with bad service and low quality food. This place is a nice change. Ambiance is very nice. Good for date nights. I went there with my 7 year old on a date! The food is more Japanese fusion than authentic Japanese. The food is very unique and different from what Im use to. Mondays the $1 oysters are a great deal. Lots of tapas style items. Over all the food is interesting and delish. The prices are on the high end but then again your getting good stuff. That is the only reason I didn't give it a 5 star. Overall loved everything I ate. The waitress knew that I was on a shoe string budget from what I wanted to order and was very gracious to make recommendations that would fill me up and not kill my wallet. Me and my 7 year old left with tip and tax at $55. We had one cucumber roll, small ramen and an appetizer and 1 dozen oysters and one desert to share. I would definitely come back to this place! Just maybe have a snack before we come so we dont need to order so much food!

Came here for lunch and ordered a roasted garlic ramen (which was way better than sansotei) while my mom got the white sesame ramen. We also got the aburi sushi set which was delicious - very fresh! Service was great and the place wasn't too busy (I went on a friday)I also love that the staff are Japanese - it makes the place feel authentic!

Didn't even know this place existed. Were originally going somewhere else but it was closed. Went here, the ramen was quite good as was the karagi chicken. Sushi was also good. Service was good so am not quite sure about another review I read.
